Pippa and Jason's wedding cake

Every so often an opportunity comes along to do something special for someone you love and I was really pleased to be able to make this wedding cake for my sister and my wonderful new brother-in-law, Jason.

Traditionally fruit cake is made as a wedding cake as the fruits symbolise fertility - something our Dad is hoping will eventually work and get him a grandchild from one of us (those of you who were there will recall the father of the bride's speech in which the main theme was 'Give me grandchildren and hurry up about it!')

It was a truly magical day, I'm only sorry I won't get to make her wedding cake again. But, maybe, there will be a christening cake soon (fingers crossed eh Dad?!)
