More is More

This cake was made for a thirtieth birthday (there's a lot of them about at the moment...) The lovely girl who it was for simply said 'Do what you like,' which is sugar to my ears.

I had great fun cutting all the shapes out of pastillage and drying them over curvy objects to get all the pieces. Sticking it all together took forever and whoever said 'less is more' was talking nonsense - I had to force myself to stop!

Somewhere inside all that is a moist carrot cake with vanilla buttercream filling.
