Indian Spice

This cake was such fun to make. I didn't know exactly what it was going to look like when I started, although I knew I wanted the main colours to be red and green and that I wanted a swirly ornate feel. The three tiers are made from fruit cake and the swirls at the base are mexican modelling paste painted with edible gold. The pinnacle is made from pastillage and is hollow for a little secret message.
