Bluebirds wedding cake Katy and Ben wanted a wedding cake which featured a pair of bluebirds flying together. The golden pastillage swirls represent the flight path of these two birds that shower the skies around them with golden stars. The cake itself is covered in ivory fondant and then brushed with a golden pearlised lustre dust in order to match the slight gold sheen of the bride's dress. The cake layers
are stacked on top of each other and the structure is given support with
internal dowelling to keep it sturdy. This was a fruit cake, always the
romantic favourite as the fruits represent fertility and life and, as
the wedding cake is traditionally the first food that the new couple share
together, this seems rather fitting. I hope they are both happy, healthy
and prosperous for years to come. To discuss ideas, please
